River City Secrets: Stories from Richmond is a collection of middle-grade short stories, each set in one of Richmond’s many popular historic locations. My short story “The History Lesson” involves the Virginia Civil Rights Memorial. Written with children in mind, this is a great collection for adults, too!

Authored by eighteen different writers and edited by Lana Krumwiede, the anthology is published by RVA indie press Chop Suey Books Books. To find more information, including bios of the authors and classroom study guides, see the Richmond Children’s Writers website. A portion of the proceeds of this book will go to James River Writers. The remaining proceeds will be used to fund school visits to Richmond-area schools.
